For me, makeup should evoke emotion and captivate your attention, whether through subtle elegance or surprising details
Eny Whitehead

What is your signature?

My creative process is very intuitive. I like exploring color and texture, sublimating the skin with nuances of light and shadow. I also like to create more bold, avant-garde looks that make a statement and are visually impactful. For me, makeup should evoke emotion and captivate your attention, whether through subtle elegance or surprising details.

What do you find fun about your job?

The possibilities with makeup are truly endless. You can create multiple visual characters and styles and still there is always space to evolve. Collaborating with a team that pushes my boundaries is incredibly exciting. There can be complicated moments on set and it's not a bad thing, everyone is searching for that one thing that will make the picture. It challenges me to give my best and inspires me to think in new ways and try new approaches and that's usually when you end up creating striking and impactful images.

What inspires you?

Life is my inspiration. I draw my inspiration in all forms of art, from photography to movies, it's important to constantly nourish your mind through research, beauty and things that resonate with you. Travelling has always been a significant part of my life, immersing myself in different cultures, scents and colors, it really fuels my creativity. People also deeply inspire me; each face tells a story. Before I start working, I like to connect with my model, getting to know them personally. Makeup is an intimate art, you are entering someone's personal space and touching their face, I need to establish that mutual trust, it helps me in my creative process.

And the job that you won’t forget?

I was fortunate enough to travel for two years around the globe with Chanel for the exhibition «la petite veste noire» by Karl Lagerfeld. It was an incredible experience accompanying the whole team and doing the makeup for actresses to every premiere in numerous countries, we went to Singapour, Dubai, São Paulo, Beijing, Seoul...I will never forget that, such great memories.

What do you see as modern in today’s make-up ?

Embracing individuality, unique features and not seeking perfection. The products have evolved so much, it's incredible the progress made with textures, there is such a variety to choose from, I think that plays a big part in how we approach and perceive makeup today. Makeup is a way to celebrate your personality and express yourself.
